Looking to install A V-8 in your 1949-54 Chevy passenger car? Then this is the kit you want to use. Our engine brackets are designed specifically for your Car. These locate in two front suspension bolt holes, remove the two bolts on each side Of the frame, set these in place and weld in.
If you are using your stock front suspension, these mounts will clear your steering Pitman arm with no issue. We recommend using Sanderson headers or 1996 Camaro exhaust manifolds for this set up.
Choose the year of your vehicle to get the right Walton Fabrication Transmission Crossmember.
Don’t waste your time hacking at junkyard parts. Install a transmission crossmember from Walton Fabrication! We designed a crossmember to bolt in and replace the original stock crossmember during the conversion from a six cylinder engine and transmission to a V-8 with an automatic transmission.
Drilling out rivets is required. This Crossmember will bolt right back in the same location to mount your aluminum Power Glide, T-350, T-400, T-700R4 or 4L60 transmission behind your V-8 engine.
This is an easy installation. No measuring, no guesswork, just a nice and easy install.
Important Note for 1951 – 1952 Cars
1951 – 1952 Chevy Passenger Cars are a mixed year range when it comes to the transmission crossmember. Some use the earlier 1949-1950 crossmember and some use the later 1953-1954 crossmember. So we can make sure you get the exact right part, you’ll need to measure your vehicle. Measure between the bolt holes, as shown in the image to the right. Choose which matches up with your vehicle from the drop down box near the Add To Cart button.
